We do not publish recipes on this site. It's intended to provide information on ingredients and spices used in our freeze-dried meals as well as directions and notes. We do not sell freeze-dried goods. We supply family, friends, and the less fortunate during trying times. Our only profit comes from having food security and happy faces.

A note from Grandpa Jerry

In today's society, most of us wake up in the morning, brew our coffee, and head out to our obligations for the day. We eat fast food when we want, and when we run short on food, we simply head over to our local grocery store and pick up what we need. For those of us who can afford it, we donate food to the less fortunate. These days, we have programs like EBT, cash assistance, and other government and local programs in place as a safety net to help those who need food. What would happen if our food supply just ceased to exist one day? Every man for themselves at that point, right? Not necessarily. During times of despair, global conflict, rising prices, and natural disasters, food and clean, potable water are in the highest demand. Preparing and properly storing a food and water supply is not just important, but essential for long-term survival. When disaster strikes, the time to prepare has passed. Prepare now!

How Freeze Drying Works

Freeze drying, also known as lyophilization, is a dehydration process that removes moisture from food while preserving its structure, flavor, and nutrients. The process involves the following steps:

  • Freezing: The food is first frozen to preserve its cellular structure.
  • Vacuum Chamber: The frozen food is placed in a vacuum chamber, where the pressure is lowered.
  • Sublimation: Ice turns directly into vapor without passing through the liquid phase
  • Final Product: This results in a lightweight, shelf-stable product that retains most of its original qualities.
